Open Enrollment Begins Tuesday, November 1

What every Floridian Needs to Know to #Get Covered and #Stay Covered

October 26, 2016– Tuesday, November 1st  marks the first day of open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act. From November 1 to January 31, consumers living in the Florida will have the opportunity to enroll in quality, affordable health coverage or renew their plan if they already have coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Last year, over 1.7 million Floridians were enrolled in health coverage through the Marketplace, providing them with the peace of mind that comes with protecting themselves and their families. This coming open enrollment period is the next opportunity consumers have to take advantage of the coverage options available through the Affordable Care Act. Here are some things every consumer needs to know about the upcoming open enrollment period:

In-person help is available to help all Floridians understand their options and enroll in a plan.
Plans and prices change every year, and now plan options can be easily compared.

Call Host Jody Young from Florida CHAIN will introduce the participants and give a general status report on the Affordable Care Act and Open Enrollment.  Jodi Ray from Florida Covering Kids and Families will cover specific Open Enrollment plans for Year 4, our partners, resources, training, timelines, and deadlines.  April M. Washington from HHS will give an overview of the past successes and future promise of the Affordable Care Act. Leah Barber-Heinz, Florida Communications Director of Enroll America, will speak about the in-person assistance opportunities and Get Covered tools that are available for consumers. Mark Pafford of Florida CHAIN will speak about the financial benefits and tax implications of Open Enrollment and the keys to a successful year ahead in Florida.
